Impact leadership series - How to mobilize finance for impact

An interactive dialogue by Global Shapers Stockholm

Nawar Al-Ebadi has a background in economics, having studied at the Stockholm School of Economics. Nawar works at the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency to mobilize finance for impact and SDGs. He explores strategies to de-risk impact investments to incentivize and drive private investors and actors to invest in impact companies. In his previous role at Inkludera Invest, Nawar worked with social enterprises and entrepreneurs, conducting extensive research on the entrepreneurs and the social challenges in question, assessing the impact and scalability potential of their organizations through in-depth interviews and on-site visits, as well as relationship-building with the entrepreneurs.

Nawar Al-Ebadi is the Vice-Curator of the Global Shapers Stockholm Hub. In this interactive dialogue moderated by Oskar Malm Wiklund, Curator of the Global Shapers Stockholm Hub, we will get to know Nawar and his work as well as explore local challenges in Sweden and Stockholm and how we can identify and tackle them with the power of entrepreneurship.

Initiated 11 years ago by the World Economic Forum, the Global Shapers Community is a network of young people from all over the world, driving dialogue, action, and change. The Global Shapers Stockholm Hub is a vibrant and diverse group of people under thirty. Some of us are lifelong Stockholmers; others are recent arrivals. Between us, we are social workers, academics, investors, doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, and activists. We share a passion for justice, inclusion, and sustainability and want to make an impact in Stockholm, our community, and the wider world.

That’s why we set out to create a thriving innovation ecosystem where people collaborate across organizations, cultures and generations to solve the grand challenges of our time.
